The panama hat supply chain has traditionally been controlled by middlemen, known as ‘perros’ due to their immoral purchasing methods and weavers typically receiving a very low price for their skills.

Nomads is an ethically, environmentally and socially responsible brand creating and selling a range of fair-trade clothing and accessories. The Komodo label was set up in 1988, with the specific aims of designing clothes and creating employment in developing countries.  Komodo has become a well known worldwide brand, working with eco-friendly materials.

La Lesso

The fashion label La Lesso brings trendy and sexy clothes for the summer season. (Lalesso is a Kenyan word for the traditional colourful clothes worn by East African women). Interesting is that the company manufactures in Kenya and is using cotton, that is hand washed in the Indian Ocean before being individually handcrafted into La Lesso creations, this is an age old method of aiding the stay fastness of the dyes.

Frank & Faith’s philosophy is to produce clothes that look beautiful and fashionable but at the same time are manufactured in an ethical and sustainable way, as the brand supports and nurtures small factories and businesses in Britain. These are often in areas of deprived communities with high unemployment.
